There are two simple ways to take part in a virtual run or challenge.
Direct connection to a GPS watch or platform so you do not need to carry your phone.
Via the viRACE app for the full experience with audio and live updates.
If you run with a GPS watch you can connect directly to viRACE to take part. Supported services include Strava, Garmin, Suunto, Polar, COROS, Wahoo, Fitbit, Apple Health and Apple Watch.
Install the app and register
Install the viRACE app in the App Store or Google Play. Then register or log in with your existing account.
Find the event and sign up
Select the event you want from the feed or use the search. Register on the detail page via the button.
Connect the platform or watch
You can set up the connection in the settings. Afterwards record the run as usual and the GPS data is transferred to viRACE automatically.
With the app you use the full potential of viRACE. That includes audio entertainment, live updates and favourite info during the event.
Install the app and register
Install the viRACE app in the App Store or Google Play. Then register or log in with your existing account.
Prepare your device
Open Settings inside the app and run the check called Is my device ready. Activate the recommended settings so GPS and recording run reliably.
Typical points are location access, permission for physical activity and disabling battery saver.
Find the event and sign up
Select the event you want from the feed or use the search. Register on the detail page via the button.
Mark favourites
Favourites add more excitement. During the run you receive updates on their intermediate results and get push notifications when they finish.
Favourites can be set after you signed up. In the event view switch to Participants, search for the person and mark them as a favourite.
Start on event day
In the app tap Start at the bottom, enter the Warmup Room and either start manually or wait for the countdown (depending on the challenge type).
During the run the app records the route automatically. The recording stops in the finish area and a started run can not be paused or interrupted.
Why are the phone settings important?
GPS, background activity and power saving decide whether recording runs reliably and ends correctly at the finish.
Can the start time be chosen freely?
For events with a time window the start is free within that window. For events with a fixed start everyone begins together.
Where can I see results and ranking?
After the run your result, ranking and the event recap are visible directly inside viRACE.
